You get a hardware error if it hasn't connected.

The Server PC has two Siemens network cards CP1613 for redundancy to communicate with PLC.

Replace the NIC and check for the issue. It was so fresh I didn't even have display drivers, audio drivers or anything installed. After that I can able to ping from either side. Huh?

The network is in the same workgroup. I get a reply and all. Soon I'll head out to look for the books on my list. Pinging the loopback address doesn't hit your wireless card at all.
